  Tuesday, 5th August - Mardi 05 Août - Martes, 05 de agosto

- Today we continued the planning in the article, and interviewed Colin Robertson and Mumta Ito about the rights of nature and the wolves returning to the alpes. They were very informative about the subject and this inabled us to collect enough information so we could continue to progress our work on the journal.

- Later in the afternoon, we set out in the sunshine on a trek to find a place to swim, this enabled the group to get to know each other better and to have quality time together. When we arrived at the river, we realised that it was a shallow stream. However we still had an enjoyable time and returned to the centre just in time for some delicious raspberry mousse !

- In our first meeting in the morning we were all set our own tasks to research and start to write the first draft of our project about the wolves in France and internationally and their protection laws. Felicien did an interview over the phone with Valerie Cabanes, who was an international lawyer, on the wolves and thier protection laws.

- After our first meeting we stopped for lunch and walked down the road and across a stream, over a plank of wood, into a field where we had a picnic. There were butterflies everywhere ! It was very pleasant.
Straight after the picnic we walked to the other side of the centre to some old buildings where Sasha, Anneke, Felicien, Arian and Maria made some dough for pizzas bases. Laura and Annabell stayed with Kevin and tried out some slacklines.

- We all came back for another meeting and saw a few lizards on the way back. A lot of work was completed in the meeting towards our project on the rights of nature and the protection laws of the wolf. Arian then did an interview over the phone with David Grimardias, who is responsible for the Natura programme about the wolf and lynx populations in Switzerland and Haute-Savoie. Arian asked him some similar questions on the wolves and thier protection laws and the rights of nature. After this, Sasha, Anneke, Maria and Felicien went back to the pizzas and Arian, Annabell and Laura went to a yoga class run by Pierrick. We then prepared and cooked the pizzas in a big stone oven, putting them in with traditional pizza palets. A lot of pictures were taken ! We were very tired after. Felicien left and joined the yoga class and they had a lot of fun.

- We then brought the pizzas over to the kitchens and we all had them for dinner. Everyone then finished the day by playing a music game with the whole centre with dancing and singing. All in all, a great day !!

- Today, for the third time during this week few of us started our day with running in the morning. It was not easy to get up in the morning, but we were rewarded with great mountain landscapes and a fresh morning.

- Our day was full of work. We continued to do our research about wolfs in the Alpes and about European and local laws concerning rights of these animals.

- While working on the content we also learnt few new techniques which helped us to organize and structure our research.

- Apart from the hard work we also managed to rest a little bit and in the evening. We had an incredible walk in the mountain and along the way were berries, beautiful flowers and trees. Finally we reached an enormous alpine field hidden between the mountains. Anneke, one of the participants in our group was lucky as she managed to see three roes who to our surprise barked like dogs

- It is necessary to add also that now almost each of us can work in a circus as every day we do exercises on a slackline.

- Urra !!! Today after breakfast we went to a very beautiful town which is called Dieulefit which in English means God made it. As it was Friday there was a nice market where we bought a lot of local products… cheese, and cheese again, lavender products, nougat, chocolate and pottery. Dieulfit is considered to be the most beautiful medieval town in this area which is also famous for its pottery.

- And now we continue to work on our project. Each participant is really involved. Sasha and Arian did a research about history of wolfs in Alpes and in France in general. Now Sasha continues her work on Tedx videos as we need to do a short video about our project. Anneke searched a question of conflicts between human and wolfs and also international law concerning nature. Felicien found a lot of useful information regarding international and local nature laws. Laura works on the question of wolf’s affect on eco-system. Annabel presented us her understanding of question “The rights of nature” and she is managing all the process, putting things together and structuring them. And Maria continued her research on this question : what have been done already in different countries about rights of nature.

- In order to help us to be better prepared to our final presentation tomorrow Michele showed us a video about public speaking and we trained to talk in front of others.

- After all our hard work we decided to do yoga course with our guru Pierrick who is by the way director of all the camp (there are two groups in the same center). That is really relaxing and helps better understand your own body and mind.

- Tonight we are going to sleep outside in hammocks ! It should be fun ! To be continued…

  Saturday-9 of August - Samedi 9 Août - Sábado, 09 de agosto

- So, last night we spent in hammocks…actually half of last night as at 2 am it started to rain. But it was fun, installing hammocks and then trying to sleep in them…stars, wind in the trees, sounds of some birds and animals. When it started to rain we ran to back to our beds, where we spent the rest of the night. Hot tea and warm shower were our solace.
Saturday was a very hard day as we had to complete our objective for the week. All morning and afternoon we spent recording our presentation. This was not easy, but we managed to overcome this challenge ! The other challenge was a translation and thanks to Félicien, Jerome and other French speaking people who helped us (Amandine, Matt who worked in other camps) we were able to translate it into French. The final video and presentation will be later in August on the website as we still need to put together some pieces of work, but for the moment our final article is ready and you can enjoy it !

Thanks a lot to all people who helped us to reach this goal : Michele, Jerome, Kevin, Masha ! That was an incredible week !
